The One About Love
Dear Stranger,
How widely, deeply and profoundly loved you are! That might feel like an odd thing to hear from a total stranger. I know the first thing I would be asking is "How" or "Why"? It’s true, I don’t know your story, but I do know that you are worthy of love just as you are.
No matter what has come before, or what you are experiencing here in this moment, I know that you bring something special and unique. Love is within all of us and though it has many faces and comes in numerous forms, it's the beating heart of this life that we get to live. Love, by definition, is a feeling of deep affection. No where in this definition does love claim to be perfect or to only be available to perfect people! I hope that wherever this letter finds you, that love meets you just as you are.
If today you wake feeling the ache of loss,
When you struggle to see how things might come together.
Or if find yourself wondering how they fell apart,
Know that love knows no limits.
When it is hard to see beauty in the things that didn’t last,
Or when you feel bound by the story of your past,
When you throw open the curtains and rain falls down the window,
I hope the raindrops glisten in the light that breaks through the clouds
Love that is lost can be a reminder of where love was,
And isn’t that a wonderful thing.
Love doesn’t promise to come without the pain of loss
But it does seem to find a way to wrap itself around us in moments it’s needed most.
Love changes a lot of things. It trades loneliness with friendship, sorrow with joy, heartbreak with wholeness and loss with life. There are so many things you might find yourself grieving today but know as I watch the sun set this evening, the same sun and moon you see, – I, a complete stranger, am thinking of you. I am smiling with eyes bright, professing complete love and adoration for you.
